You live in a dormitory, share house or apartment that already has Wi-Fi. You use mobile data only when you are out: on the train, at school, at your part-time job.
You keep in touch through LINE, WhatsApp or Messenger, check maps and scroll social media now and then. You do not stream long videos on the go or tether a laptop.
When NOT to choose this plan
If your home has no fixed internet: your phone becomes your only connection and this plan will run out fast.
If you need to open a Japanese bank account or apply for part-time jobs soon: you will need a callable phone number, so look at the phone-number plan.
