How to book

  1. TYO-NRT: buy at the counter or ticket machine in Narita Airport right after arrivals.
  2. Limousine Bus: buy at the Airport Limousine counter in the arrivals hall, or book on the operator's website.
  3. Check the timetable first: the last bus from Narita is usually around 23:00, so later arrivals need another option.
  4. Luggage goes in the hold, usually one standard suitcase per person on TYO-NRT.

Common mistakes

  • Late-night arrivals: late and early fares are double the normal fare, with very few departures.
  • Expressways jam at rush hour: add 30 minutes if you have a connection or appointment.
  • TYO-NRT goes to Tokyo Station, not Shinjuku. For Shinjuku, the Limousine Bus or the N'EX train is easier.
  • Oversized luggage can be refused, so check the rules before bringing strollers or large boxes.

Compared with the train

The train from Haneda to Shinjuku via Shinagawa costs only about ¥600 and is fast, but you change trains, which is awkward with big suitcases. From Narita, the Skyliner is fastest to Ueno and the N'EX is convenient for Shinjuku and Shibuya, but both cost more than the bus.
